Asia-Pacific Chess Organizers Association (APCOA) is politically neutral non-profit organization, which intends to enhance coordination, cooperation and networking between organizers of open international chess events within Asia-Pacific region.
Objectives:
- To have unified, promptly updated chess event calendar for Open tournaments in Asia-Pacific region;
- To coordinate chess events between members, to avoid overlapping schedules, when ever possible;
- To coordinate technical support;
- To coordinate annual networking between member organizers.
Membership:
- Open for all individual organizers of international chess events in Asia-Pacific Region;
- New member applications are approved monthly by the Board (by majority);
- There can be ordinary members and non-voting associate members;
- There is no membership fee.
Management:
- Founding members will serve as a first Board;
- New board is elected every two years. Existing members can suggest 3 candidates (all must represent different countries) for the board by email. Six top voted candidates will serve as a next board;
- Board will promote members’ chess events trough dedicated website and facebook.com.
