The tentative schedule for 4 major regional open tournaments in Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for 2011 is as follows:
- 3-9 April: Kuala Lumpur Open
- 11-17 April: Thailand Open
- 21-25 April: Doeberl Cup
- 27 April – 1 May: Sydney Open

Chess cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region
As the explosive growth of chess in the Asia-Pacific region continues, it is high time that better coordination and a unified approach to chess organization is adopted. With this in mind, a dedicated group of chess organizers and enthusiasts have formed the Asia-Pacific Chess Organizers Association. We would encourage all chess organizers to check with our calendar of events for possible clashes, and then post their own event.
